Frances A. Batho, 84, passed away at 4:17 a.m. on Sunday morning, December 30, 2001 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Frances was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on October 16, 1917 and had been a resident of Pickford most of her life. She has also lived in the Les Cheneaux Apartments in Cedarville from 1990 until becoming a resident of Tendercare in Sault Ste. Marie in 1999.

She had been a homemaker and mother and loved being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had been a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of Barbeau, and was a current member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Hessel.

She will truly be missed by her family and friends and was always known to have a wonderful smile on her face.

Francis is survived by three daughters, Judy (Ed) Kocks of Saginaw, Mary (Richard) Storey of Pickford, and Frances "Sas" (David) Miller of DeTour Village; four sons, Robert (Dolores) Batho of Sault Ste. Marie, William (Betsy) Batho of Dearborn Heights, Ken (Kathy) Batho of Knoxville, Tenn., and Larry (Linda) Batho of Melvindale; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara (Pete) Piteau of Midland.

Her husband, Kenneth on February 7, 1985; infant son, Kenneth Donald; and her parents, Frank and Alice Lapish, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Reamer Funeral Home in Pickford.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 3 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Barbeau with Fr. John Hascall celebrant. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie.
