Lila Mae Hunter
Lila Mae Hunter of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan on August 17, 2007. She was born September 22, 1920 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to David and Liza (House) Eagle. Lila was a member of the Algonquin Methodist Church. Lila loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She also loved the outdoors especially time taking care of her many flowers and feeding the wildlife in her yard.
Surviving Lila are her sons Arthur John (Helen) Hoornstra of Cedar Springs, Michigan, Glen Hoornstra of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Stanley (Sue) Hoornstra of Pleasant Lake Michigan, her daughter Violet (Calvin) Buist of Jennison, Michigan, her brother Lorne Eagle of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jim (Sally) Hoornstra, Tim (Clair) Hoornstra, Michelle ( Randy) Tate, Kelly (Tony) Bowling, Holly (Sean) Azure, Traci (Shane) Wood, Donna (John) Murra, Robin (Mike) Troyer, Glen (Becky) Hoornstra, Kathy Hoornstra, Jennifer Hoornstra, Becky (Mike) Surbrook, Matthew Hoornstra, Marty (Wendy) Hoornstra, Darrel (Kathy) Horka, Sean (Stephanie) Horka, Laura (Joel) Collins, Scott Buist, Trent (Michelle) Buist, Kristen Buist, Katie Buist and Allysa Buist. Lila is also survived by 34 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lila in death are her husbands John Hoornstra (1969) and Clark Hunter (1999) and her 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
Visitation will be held at Hovie Funeral Home on Sunday August 19, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 20, at 10 a.m. at Hovie Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Algonquin Methodist Church
