  General Notes:

2 stories of what happened:
1. Owen W. was born in 1795 in County Meath, Ireland. His family owned land near Dublin, Ireland. They lived in a castle which we're told stands to the this day. The family was apparently well-to-do and would not become Anglican, so the English goverment took over the land and it turned over to a family named Smyth. They let Owen remain there as a stable boy.

2. Bradley's had a farm outside Dublin, and when they refused to denowse their Catholicism the land was confiscated from them. The farm was then purchased by a family named Smith. He then says the Smiths kept one of the McMahon son's on as a laborer. This McMahon (to the displeasure of the Smiths), fell in love with one of their daughters Mary and they married.

Owen spent his declining years in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Collins, and is buried in their family lot.
