LACEY, Margaret A. - Age 88, died Wednesday, September 28, 1994 at Kith Haven. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, October 1, 1994 at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Francis Sullivan officiating. Burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A parish scripture service will be held 7:30 PM Friday. If desired contributions may be made to St. Matthew Church Memorial Fund, St. Joseph Auxiliary, or Powers High School. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 PM Thursday, suggested visiting hours of 7-9 PM Thursday and Noon-4 and 7-9 PM Friday.

Mrs. Lacey was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on October 24, 1905 and had been a resident of Flint since 1910, coming from Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and their Altar Society, a life member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and was named Irish Mother of the Year in Flint in 1986. She worked as a bookkeeper for Abbott's Grocery and Meat Market and Vilia's Flowers for many years, retiring in 1976. She is survived by son, Edward T. Lacey and wife Pauline of Deland, Florida; 3 daughters, Frances Ackley of Flint, Mrs. John (Margaret) Mahoney of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Mrs. Ralph (Marie) Knight of Fenton, MI; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lacey was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence W. Lacey February 5, 1986; her grandson, Michael Knight November 26, 1983, and 3 brothers.
