General Notes:
Gunnor (Gunnar, Gunner) is known to have held land in the East and North Ridings of Yorkshire.
He was presumably of Scandinavian descent; however, no information is really known about him, except that he was the father of Thored Gunnersson, Ealdorman of York.
Thored is believed to have been born about 938, therefore Gunnor was born perhaps 920 or before. Most guesses place his birth much earlier, circa 908, and they may be correct, it is just not known.
Through his son Thored, Gunnor was the grandfather of Ælfgifu, first wife of King Æthelred II 'the Unready', King of England; and also Æthelstan of Ringmere.
As the grandfather of Ælfgifu, Gunnor was the ancestor of many kings of England and royalty throughout Europe.
Gunnar married Unknown. (Unknown was born about 890 in , , Northumbria, England 1731 and died after 923 1731.)
