The Pullar

Pullar Arena was built in 1938 on Portage Street. The arena was named for Sophie Pullar who owned the farm that existed on the site before the arena was built. The Pullar was the first rink in the state of Michigan to have a Zamboni.

The Detroit Red Wings used the Pullar for training camps during the 1940’s. While the Red Wings no longer use it, the Pullar continues to be used by local hockey teams and others.
