Colonel Frederick Weissenfel's Regiment, of the New York Militia. He served as a spy back of British Lines around New York City. The story is told of how Stephen was captured by the British and sentenced to be hung; the rope around his neck broke; they flogged him and sent him on his way. Noted events in his life were: 1.
