Occupation:Seigneur de Lusignan, Co-Seigneur de Lusignan, Comte, de la Marche

Hugh de Lusignan, Co-Seigneur de Lusignan in 1164 (c. 1141\endash 1169), married before 1162 Orengarde, who died in 1169, leaving two sons who were infants at the time of his death
- Hugh IX of Lusignan
- Raoul I de Lusignan, Count of Eu

Traditional accounts made Hugh IX the son of Hugh VIII and hence older brother of Geoffrey, Aimery and Guy, yet their personal timelines suggested that Hugh IX was younger than them. A reevaluation of the primary record revealed that there had been an intermediate Hugh, who took control of Lusignan when his father Hugh VIII left on crusade. This Hugh died in 1169, leaving a widow Orengarde. By the time this discovery of this 'extra' Hugh was made, the numbering of the Hughs had become standard among historians, and the preference among historians has been to leave Hugh unnumbered, rather than introduce the confusion that would come from numbering all subsequent Hughs.

Ralph de Lusignan, by marriage Count of Eu, was likewise traditionally made son of Hugh VIII, but he seems to have been of similar age to Hugh IX, and hence son of this unnumbered Hugh rather than Hugh VIII.

Lord Lusignan. Husband of Orengarde Bourgogne de Rancon. This Hugh died while on Crusade in Palestine. His heart was returned for burial at Valence. Date of burial noted as 15 March 1169. His parents were Hugh (1120-1173) and Rourgogne (Dame de Fontenay). He was the grandson of Hugh and wife Sarazine of Armenia.
